My client wont pay for software
Because your client was willing to pay for your service, it shows that they value their image. If your clients are running a business, they are willing to pay for things that make or save them money. Pagelime excells at saving your client money because it's easy to integrate, requires no maintenance hours from you, and empowers your client to take care of content themselves.

I don't feel right charging my client for software that is free
The software is free for you, but your client requires you to set it up, train them, and maintain their account. You are charging not just for the software, but for your service. There is value in this, and charging for it is how you make money.

Because my client might find out and use your service for free
We have taken great lengths to remove all Pagelime signatures from the system. You can completely white-label and brand the CMS. We leave nothing in the markup, we leave nothing in the backend, and we have even gone so far as to have "Client CMS" come up as the charge on your clients credit card statements.

However, even if your client knows you use Pagelime, they also know that you built the site and you implemented Pagelime. You should explain to them, that Pagelime is great, but it’s merely a tool for managing their content. By subscribing to your service/instance of Pagelime, they are not just getting a great tool but technical support and the value of all your experience. Additionally, some of our users include free adjustments of editable regions while in a subscription. One of our users has a great method of feeling out clients and providing good motivation to use Pagelime, you can read about it on our forum, here.

Because I'm uncomfortable dealing with my clients on a subscription basis.
As a designer, the subscription approach gives you the ability to create recurring revenue, and it establishes a fair ongoing price of support for your clients. Our reseller system removes the major hurdles associated with client subscriptions, money collection and automatically dealing with expiring/changing cards. When your client signs up, they will be placed on an automatic subscription that bills them monthly or annually. You don't have to call to collect, it happens every billing cycle.

Because my client doesn't want to pay monthly or annually
Your clients pay monthly for almost everything related to their business, such as internet, utilities, rent, even their web hosting. This is a service that benefits their business, and gives them the ability to control their online presence without having to make phone calls or waste time. They will pay for the peace of mind and control that you are providing. The alternative is to pay a more substantial amount of money up front for your hours, or pay for hours whenever they need to make a change. Be honest and direct with your client when explaining this, and let them choose what's best for their business.

Because someone on a forum told me to use open source and charge my client for integration hours
Pagelime is way easier to integrate than open source: there's no databases, no installation, and no coding. This saves you time and your client money. On top of the up front cost, you have to maintain every client CMS every time a security update rolls out, the database connection goes down, or just a bug comes up. You have to do this for each site, and clients are often reluctant to pay you to fix something they already paid for. Cloud software like Pagelime is great because you get premium support and automatic updates as part of the service. Charging a small monthly fee for this is better for you and your clients.

I'm uncomfortable with a third party handling my billing
We've spent months building out the reseller tools and finding the best and most reliable systems for handling transactions. Billing is complex, and we do it well. We have the whole system setup to maximize the ease of payment for your clients, and subscription monitoring for you. Setting up and managing recurring billing on your own is complicated. Our system is integrated directly into the software, and we make it easier for you to track and collect money.

I want my clients to think I built it
They will if you tell them. There are no signs of PageLime anywhere in the app. Your clients credit card statements will say "Client CMS", and we even provide you with documentation to brand and give to your clients. No system anywhere gives you the ability to make a better impression on your clients than Pagelime.

I want full transparency with money matters: billing times, amounts, alerts, everything
The reseller dashboard provides you with analytics on all your transactions and clients. You can tell when your clients upcoming bills are, see an overview of past payments, review your balance, and request a payout immediately.

I need access to my money promptly.
We have a guaranteed seven day turnaround from when you request a payout until it goes into your PayPal account. In most cases it happens within a day.

Expiring credit cards and subscriptions.
We give you and your client notice well in advance of any expiring subscriptions or credit cards. Since we handle all the recurring billing issues, all subscriptions will stay active until you terminate them. Cards that expire, or failed transactions will suspend publishing after 1 week if not rectified.

How much does this cost me?
We charge a base monthly price of $7 per site on a professional account and $5 per site on a business account. All the monthly costs of recurring billing, credit card transactions, and collections are accounted for within this base price. Your profit is anything you charge on top of this, and you will retain all your earnings from the base on.

General Credit card woes.
We handle all notifications and transaction issues. This cuts down on the amount of time required for you to manage any of these issues. If you have a specific concern that we haven't addressed here, send us an email and we'll help answer your question.

I like flat fee billing.
You always have that option. However a subscription keeps money coming in, and creates a long term relationship with your client. It encourages your clients to continue to work with you, and it gives them a feeling that you are running a business that will be there for them. We believe that this is the best way for a designer to run a business and keep steady income in their pockets.

What if you go out of business
Pagelime has been around over a year. We have thousands of clients and the system more then pays for itself. Not only are we not going out of business, but we are expanding rapidly. We will be around for you and your clients well into the future. Grow with us.

I don’t have enough clients/sites to offset the cost of Pagelime.
Pagelime PRO is only $19 a month, so even with only one client using Pagelime at the low end of our suggested markup ($26) you’re already breaking even. (Reselling sites start at a base cost of $5 for Business accounts and $7 for PRO accounts.) With just two sites at $26 you’re already covering your entire $19 Pagelime cost and makingn an additional $19 of profit every month; that’s an extra $228 a year in your pocket, with just two sites!

I just create a new Free account for all my new sites.
While you could do this, by doing so, you are missing out on several big Pagelime features such as centralized account management and CMS white-labeling. On top of this, you are sacrificing the ability to impress your clients with a branded service from your company. Even if you don't act as if you created the service yourself, it shows a lot to a client that you are willing to provide such a well thought out value add.
If you have a concern that isn't listed here, feel free to contact us, and we'll answer your questions promptly.
